EPA Ignored Own Guidelines in Declaring CO2 A Threat

The Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) has released a report showing that the EPA did not comply with federal data guidelines when providing its technical support document (TSD) for the EPA’s 2009 “endangerment finding.” The EPA used the TSD to justify its endangerment finding and thus pave the way for the EPA’s proposed carbon-dioxide regulations.

  • Furthermore a Senate investigation found that "when reviewing its technical support document (TSD) the agency failed to comply with  OMB peer review requirements."
  • The EPA argued no vetting was necessary as they used information from the UN's IPCC reports, the US Climate Change Program and the National Research Council.  This argument reversed the EPA's prior claim to have "exercised scientific judgment."
  • The EPA ignored dissenting science in rendering the endangerment finding of CO2 and refuses to reconsider its finding.
