UK Hospitals Send Patients Home in the Middle of the Night to Free Up Beds

Thousands of patients are being discharged from hospitals in the middle of the night to free up beds, it has emerged.

There are concerns that some elderly patients are being sent home in taxis in their bedclothes just to make more space in the wards.

The disturbing findings have prompted the Government to order an investigation.

The Patients Association said it had received several calls a week from distressed relatives whose loved ones had been sent home in the middle of the night.  Read more.
